A Good Experience of Swimming free essay sample
The reason might be I wanted to be a mermaid living at the sea because of the mermaid tales I had read. However, I joined the swimming team when I was in high school. During that period, our team joined a lot of large-scale and famous swimming competitions by Hong Kong Swimming Association. It helped me to meet with other athletes and learn from them. We could share our experience, and discuss about swimming techniques. I even found out the deeper meaning of swimming in the competition. ââ¬Ëââ¬ËFour minutes thirty-seven seconds! I did a good job, I came closer to my target. ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ I said it in my mind. I still needed to pay much effort in the drill. Thus, I started training after school every day until after a couple of months, I noticed that even though I had been training every day, it could not help me keep up the speed of swimming for a longer period of time. We will write a custom essay sample on A Good Experience of Swimming or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Therefore, I thought that maybe I ignored some skills that could help me be able to swim faster in the water. Then, I went to the library to do more research on skills improvement, and watched various swimming videos. Yet, the information was not so useful for me. This encouraged me to find someone to rectify my skills. After our team joined the club by Hong Kong Swimming Association, I started to have an intensive training with the other athletes. One of my teammates, Joy, was a swimming ââ¬Å"killerâ⬠from another school. When I first met her, she wore a special swimsuit which was the award that she got as the champion at her individual swimming competition. As she wore a swimsuit, her tan and sturdy body was emphasized perfectly. Especially, she tied her honey-colored hair in a high ponytail with a yellow hair band. It made her more outstanding and refreshing. Our friendship had established since we both were very enthusiastic about swimming. Finally, we even decided to create a team and joined the competitions. One day, I went to a sports store with Joy. We purchased several pieces of swimsuits. ââ¬Å"A perfect swimsuit is very important to swimmer. â⬠She exclaimed. Usually 0. 01 seconds of time is the key to the win. Light, low-resistance, waterproof and quick drying materials can reduce the swimmerââ¬â¢s muscles and skin vibration, to help athletes to save energy. ââ¬Å"To do a good job, people must first sharpen their tools,ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ I always believed that. Then, we started our training, ââ¬Ëââ¬ËThirty seconds! Jessââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ Joy said and then she wrote down my times in a notebook by keeping track of my progress. Joy found out lack of ââ¬Ëââ¬ËEnduranceââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ was one of my problems, so she taught me how to hold my breath longer at my ââ¬Ëââ¬ËFirst lesson. ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ She told me that learning to hold my breath for longer periods of time could lessen the energy loses. After I practiced several times, we saw improvement of it obviously. My second problem was how to swim by decreasing drag, reducing the resistance can save the energy and to avoid the speed slow down. ââ¬Ë Keep the forearm strong during the catch and when you are retaining your forearm should be in the shape of an S. Then, make sure there are no bubbles on your hands. ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ she explained it to me very clearly and then she did several demonstrations for me and made sure I understood what exactly she meant. ââ¬Ëââ¬ËAr e you ready to lose? ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ Joy joked. ââ¬Ëââ¬ËWho will know? ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ I said. Morning came fast, after we ate lunch, Joy and I were challenging with each other and I found out that was really efficient for me to improve my speed. Especially, Joy is a good swimmer, even though I couldnââ¬â¢t surpass her but I still had a target when I swam. We fixed problems together, and through experience, we did good jobs every single time. I enjoyed the time that we had spent together and this experience has benefited me a great deal. That day came fast, it was an unusually hot day, and the clouds were shining like sliver-bright by the strong sunlight. I was shocked by the burst of chlorine and a heat of summer was surrounding me. The big drops of sweat had been slowly dripping on my forehead. I was standing at the diving board and waiting for the ring. ââ¬Ëââ¬ËBee! ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ I plunged into the pool; I felt a sudden breeze in my body when the cool water splashed on my face. My body was full of power like a fully charged battery. Suddenly, all of the swimming skills I had learned were passing through my mind in quick procession. I kept increasing the speed as fast as I could, before all my energy was consumed. The distance had gone a half, I already passed the task to Joy, and then she disappeared in the twinkling of an eye. After a while, I heard someone was yelling at the pool. ââ¬ËHelp! Help! ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ A girl was struggling with the water and yelling for help. I immediately caught her up; I jumped to the pool and then made a fastest and most effective way to rescue her. The lifeguard came up with her immediately, and then they did the emergency treatment for her instantly. The swimming pool was completely silenced, and it seemed that everyone was l ooking at waiting for the miracle to happen. After a while, the girl looked better and everyone cheered loudly. The swimming pool returned to its original liveliness. The competition went on as scheduled, and we were rewarded what we deserved. After the swimming training, I have learned how to keep my endurance longer, how to reduce the resistance and how to sharpen a tool, before I do a good job. ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢Yield twice the result with half the effortââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ is the shortcut to get ahead in thing more easily. All of them lead me to have a great step forward in my future swimming community. The most important thing is swimming is only a hobby for me, it is also a lifesaving sport because I can use the swimming skills I learned to save people lives.

Interview Storytelling How to Tell a Story During Your Interview
Interview Storytelling How to Tell a Story During Your Interview ââ¬Å"I remember the daffodils were beautiful that summer. I was young then, just starting out, full of optimism and joie de vivreâ⬠¦What? My management skills? Donââ¬â¢t worry, Iââ¬â¢m getting to that part eventually.â⬠One of the best things about the in-person (or phone) job interview is that it gives you a chance to take your sterile-looking, rigidly bulleted resume and create a more rounded narrative of yourself and your career. But itââ¬â¢s an area that takes a bit of skill and finesse. You donââ¬â¢t want to end up way out in Tangentville, but you also donââ¬â¢t want to seem like you canââ¬â¢t back up the information on your resume.Find Your NarrativeBefore the interview, itââ¬â¢s important to limber up by coming up with the narrative you want to express during the interview. Is it that youââ¬â¢re a tough leader who always wants to improve? Are you a problem solver who thrives on challenges? Once you work out what you want to achieve with your interview (and what works well with the job description), you can shape your stories and anecdotes to bolster that narrative.Storytelling isnââ¬â¢t just a way to package yourself, itââ¬â¢s also a way to pull in the interviewer and make them care more about the person and resume sitting in front of them. [via DynamicYield]What to Talk AboutAt The Muse, they recommend having six types of stories in your pocket for any interview:Solving ProblemsProblem solving is a very highly regarded skill for hiring managers. They need to know that youââ¬â¢ll step in and be able to handle things on your own.Talk about: You resolved a conflict between two coworkers, or between you and someone else. You came up with a solution to a crisis at the last minute. You identified an area of cost savings that helped save a budget crisis.DONââ¬â¢T talk about: The time you brokered a peace deal between your two fighting frat brothers, or between your mom and Aunt Susan at Thanksgiving. Unless you ma naged a peace deal in the Middle East in your spare time, stick to work-related stories.Overcoming ChallengesEveryone loves the underdog, right? And sure, itââ¬â¢s good to have examples of when things went well, but many interviewers want to know about how you do when things arenââ¬â¢t going so well. In this story, itââ¬â¢s important to identify the challenge, but more important to show how you conquered it successfully.Talk about: You had a difficult relationship with your boss, but came to an understanding. You found a new and more efficient process for doing something that used to take hours. You had a crazy deadline for a project- and met itDONââ¬â¢T talk about: How you started waking up on time after you got in trouble for constantly coming in late.Bouncing Back from MistakesYouââ¬â¢re not perfect. Spoiler alertâ⬠¦the interviewer knows that. The trick here is turning mistakes to your advantage. Itââ¬â¢s important to be selective here; you want to pick some thing that wasnââ¬â¢t too egregious, and also something that shows real professional growth. Be sure to focus on the outcome (how youââ¬â¢ve pivoted and this mistake made you stronger) over the mistake itself. For this one, you not only have to be a storyteller, but also a spinmaster. Itââ¬â¢s important to show that youââ¬â¢re a better and stronger employee for the experience, which of course wouldnââ¬â¢t be repeated in your new job.Talk about: A mistake you made early in your career that made you better at your job. A knowledge gap that you worked hard to address.DONââ¬â¢T talk about: The time you almost got fired for negligence. A major mistake you made for which you never got caught. The time you hit reply-all to make a snarky comment about someone on the email chain, even though you meant to forward it to your friend Jake only. Or the confidential company information that somehow got made public via your Twitter account.Making Good DecisionsThis is not the time for an elaborate story that ends with your colleagues carrying you out of the conference room on their shoulders, chanting your name. Look for stories that show how you took charge of a situation, or managed others to a successful outcome.Talk about: The team you led to a successful year of sales. The event you organized (and went well). The project you spearheaded.DONââ¬â¢T talk about: Successful initiatives where you werenââ¬â¢t actually the person in charge. Itââ¬â¢s a dangerous game, taking credit for things. You never know who knows whom, and what can be factchecked as soon as you leave the interview.Working Well with OthersYou donââ¬â¢t have to be the shining leader here, itââ¬â¢s more about how you interact. This one is pretty flexible- any kind of project youââ¬â¢ve done in conjunction with other people will do. Colleagues, clients, volunteers, all are potential teamwork stories.Talk about: The event you organized in conjunction with others. The high-profil e project that involved several different departments.DONââ¬â¢T talk about: Times you didnââ¬â¢t get along with others, or had conflicts.Being, You Know, a Real PersonSometimes you get a bit of a wildcard, an interviewer saying, ââ¬Å"So tell me about yourself.â⬠Rather than launch into a chronological timeline of your education and experience, pick a story or two that expresses your priorities and values. It doesnââ¬â¢t have to be strictly related to work, but if you can use it to shore up one of the big skills (leadership, problem solving, commitment, etc.), all the better.Talk about: Youââ¬â¢re training for a marathon. You speak three languages and are working on a fourth. On weekends, you volunteer at a farm for rescued mongooses.DONââ¬â¢T talk about: Inappropriate personal stories. Health issues. Political activities. How to Frame Your StoriesGood interview stories do two things:1. They tell the interviewer something about you that goes beyond your resume bu llet points.2. They engage the interviewer.Itââ¬â¢s the same as any story you tell, whether youââ¬â¢re hanging out at a cafà © with friends or in a job interview: you want to tell it in the best, most entertaining way. This does not mean you need to adopt a Catskills comedian persona (ââ¬Å"take my bossâ⬠¦please!â⬠), but itââ¬â¢s worth the effort to put a little sparkle on your stories, even if theyââ¬â¢re just meant to flesh out the bullet points on your resume.Make the listener care about what youââ¬â¢re saying.Try to tie things back to the job at hand. If youââ¬â¢re talking about leadership skills, talk about how your past leadership makes you a great fit for this job managing three employees. Show the value of these stories to the company that might hire you.Stick to the important points. These stories should be short (maybe only a few sentences). You want to make sure you zero in on the most important details: who, what, when, where, and how it appli es to this new job.Be upbeat.People respond to tone, and if you try to keep the story light and professional, it helps maintain that tone for the overall interview.Make sure thereââ¬â¢s a clear ending. You donââ¬â¢t want to trail off, or wrap up with a weak, ââ¬Å"Soâ⬠¦yeah.â⬠End on a strong note about your goals or what you hope to achieve in this new job.Keep it as short as possible. Here, the sweet spot is somewhere between one-or-two word answers and a ten-minute monologue. Try out some standard answers to interview questions as part of your pre-interview prep. Time yourselfâ⬠¦if you feel like youââ¬â¢ve been talking for a while without coming up for air, you probably have. If you find that your story is going more than a minute or two, start thinking of spots where you can cut it down. What Not to DoWhen thinking about the stories you want to tell in an interview, the things not to do are just as important as the story itself.Donââ¬â¢t use a timeline.Thi s happened, and then this happened, and then this other thing happened.â⬠Iââ¬â¢m already asleep, can you repeat that last event? Instead, try a pattern of ââ¬Å"this happened, and this was the result. What I learned from this wasâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Donââ¬â¢t use jargon.Try to keep terms as universal as possible. If youââ¬â¢re talking to someone whom you know is familiar with them, or theyââ¬â¢re culturally appropriate to your industry, itââ¬â¢s okay to use specific words, but donââ¬â¢t take for granted that everyone will know what a GMU report is if they havenââ¬â¢t mentioned it before.Donââ¬â¢t make stuff up.The truth is always the best in a job interview scenario. Even if it would make for a better story if you accepted the Nobel Peace Prize at the end, itââ¬â¢s not worth the embarrassment of getting caught in a fib.Donââ¬â¢t leave the professional zone.Even if youââ¬â¢re asked to talk about hobbies or personal interests, donââ¬â¢t use that as an excuse to list all of your pet topics. Pick one or two that you can talk about, and for goodnessââ¬â¢s sake, make sure theyââ¬â¢re work appropriate. (Any story where your friend had to bail you out- not great.)Moral of the StoryAt the end of the interview, you want to feel like youââ¬â¢ve achieved a good balance between the you-on-paper (your resume) and your presentation. Using stories and anecdotes to show (not tell) how those bullet points and skill actually shape your career is a great skill to have, and just takes a little practice.

Evaluation of demand price elasticity Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Evaluation of demand price elasticity - Essay Example The consideration which we pay for a product at a certain quantity is called the price of the product. When we talk of the product price, we mean market price. That is the price at which the product is sold to all buyers in the market. The quantity of a product that we purchase at a certain price is called the demand of the product. The price of a product and its quantity demanded are closely related in the sense that each of these has a bearing on another. When one of these two changes, the other also tends to change. This tendency is very well described by what is popularly known as Law of Demand. The law of Demand is a general law which need not be applicable in all situations. In certain situations, this law seems to be unrealistic. The Law of Demand states that when the price increases, the quantity demanded decreases and vice versa, other things remaining the same. The phrase 'other things remain the same' is an important one that it portrays the exceptions of Law of Demand. The Law of Demand, therefore, postulates the direction of change in one variable (price or quantity) due to the change in other variable. The law is silent about the magnitude of change; it talks only about the direction of change in one variable due to a change in another variable. It does not talk anything about the degree by which demand changes as a result of a change in price. Here lies the importance of Elasticity of Demand. This concept tells us the extent to which demand increases or decreases owing to a decrease or increase in price. Therefore, Law of Demand is a qualitative measurement whereas Elasticity of Demand is a quantitative measurement. Research Methodology At this juncture, the present research study is an attempt to analyze and evaluate the price elasticity phenomenon with the support of an empirically collected data on a certain product and its substitutes. The research is basically a qualitative one that analyzes the data to arrive at logical conclusions. The research uses observation method for data collection as the recorded data alone are sufficient. The data are collected directly by approaching three shops at different places (City I, City II and City III-for convenience) in the New York City. The demand elasticity is evaluated over a period of twelve months, which is segregated into four periods of three months each. The price variations of selected brands over this period are collected and the quantity sold during the same period is compared with that of the other two locations. Therefore, the study takes into account the price of the selected products and their quantity sold (demand) during a period of 1 year, which later co mpared with that of same brands from two shops each in other two locations. Unit of the study Three similar products with different brands from one shop constitute the units of study. For comparison, two more shops at different places in New York City are located and similar three brands are taken from each of the two shops. Therefore, altogether the product range is nine of three different brands. The three brands from City I form the units of study about which the price elasticity of demand is evaluated in comparison with similar brands from City II and City III. Data Collection The present study relies heavily on secondary data. Primary data are not supposed to be collected as the study depends upon the recorded fact such as price, quality and demand (quantity sold). Data are collected directly by approaching shops from three shops. Observation method is also applied to assess the quality of the products. The printed price less any discount form the price of the products and demand data are collected from the records of the concerned shops. The study is

Farmland Drainage System Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Farmland Drainage System - Assignment Example The developers of the system have a crucial role in determining which materials are the most environmentally friendly to be used within the system. They determine what implements are the most environmentally friendly at the most affordable price. The aim of the project is to minimize costs and increase efficiency of land use. The financiers of the projects have a crucial role in determining whether the implements used to create the system are environmentally friendly to be consumed by other users. However, they make this decision based on the profitability of the available options. It is crucial that they maintain an objective approach towards their responsibility to the society through CSR. The farmers who may potentially implement this drainage system have the final say as to whether they have all the facts to make an informed decision as pertains the effects the system would have on their land and their productivity. Environmental Pollution is one of the greater problems facing societies worldwide. It is said that environmental pollution (air pollution to be precise) causes 20% of deaths around the world annually, according to data gathered by the World Health Organization in partnership with the World Bank. Air pollution through carbon emissions from factories, automobiles and the day-to-day activities of the human race affects the ozone layer in negative ways. This pollution has led to the intoxication of clouds, leading to acid rain. This kind of rain water is detrimental for farm use and as such, there has to be consideration of the location of the land on which the drainage system would be used. Owing to pollution, global warming has resulted in the drastic change in weather patterns. The normal seasonal patterns have been affected in terms of their timing and their severity. Summers have been found to be extremely hot while winters have been extremely cold. This situation may impede the effective use of the drainage system. It

Microenvironmental Factors Affecting Toyota Essay Example for Free
Microenvironmental Factors Affecting Toyota Essay Microenvironmental factors are ââ¬Å"The factors close to the company that affect its ability to serve its customersâ⬠[principles of marketing]. The microenvironmental factors that affected the introduction and sale of the Toyota Prius were it customers, competitors and publics. Customers are anyone who buys or rents from the company. Customer are the most important microenvironmental factor that affect company as they survive on meeting the wants and needs of the customer and failure to do so will result in the company failing. Toyota study their customers and saw that they wanted a car with better fuel consumption and as a result Toyota decided to make the Prius, their first hybrid car. Toyota dealt with their customers by setting up website to educate the customers about the Toyota Prius. They took advantage of Earth Day to send out green seed cards shaped like Toyotaââ¬â¢s logo to prospective buyers and they also gave away some green Prius at Earth Day events. However, Toyota did not recognise that consumers normally donââ¬â¢t buy cars for the saving in the long-run so ââ¬Å"fuel savings are not going to be the key it convincing people to purchase the Priusâ⬠[principles of marketing]. As a result of this Toyota have asked governments to give tax cuts to cars with better fuel consumption. Competitors are any company in the same market place as your company. In order of a company to be successful in the market place a competitors most grain a competitive advantage over its competitors. Toyota has been successful in maintaining its competitive advantage although competitors like Citroen have cars which are just as efficient as the Toyota Prius, ââ¬Å"Toyota is still the market leader in this segmentâ⬠[principles of marketing]. They have done this by capturing people imagination by being the first Hybrid car on the market and through the effective use of advertisement. Publics are any group that has an actual or potential interest in an organisationââ¬â¢s ability to achieve its objectives. Good relations with the public help to enhance the companyââ¬â¢s reputation so helping to increase in sales. The biggest factors of the Toyota Priusââ¬â¢ microenvironment are media and the government. Toyota has worked with Government bodies and has asked for tax incentives encourage people to buy more environmentally friendly cars to increase the amount of hybrids sold. Toyota also has spent 15m of its 200m annual marketing budget on the Prius. It has introduction ads that appealed more to peoplesââ¬â¢ emotion to get them to buy the Prius. Overall, Toyota has analysed its icroenvironment extremely well as it has maintaining its competitive advantage over it competitors and has sold over 1m Prius with the waiting list of the Prius waiting list being over 18 month and becoming a status symbol among Hollywood stars. Question 2: The macro environment consists of six forces that affect the whole microenvironment, demographic, economic, natural, technological, political and cultural forces. The Toyota Prius is such a highly technologically advanced vehicle with its four cylinder petrol engine and 33-kilowatt electric motor. This could be one of the demographic factors that prompted the introduction of the Prius for Toyota. The Prius appeals to Generation Y also known as the ââ¬Å"echo boomersâ⬠who were born between 1977 and 1994. Their comfort with computers, digital technology and overall technical advances prove they are and attractive target for marketers wanting to create a device at the high end of new, innovative devices on the market today e. g. iPad , Toyota Prius. The economic environment consists of the factors that affect consumer buying power and spending patterns. With many countries experiencing economic recession, consumer purchasing power is reduced. People have less money and now have to spend more carefully. The recent high petrol prices are causing a rising demand for greener, more fuel efficient cars that are cheaper to run. Several governments are providing incentives to people to buy these hybrid cars. In the UK, the government is offering reduced car tax on initial purchase. Electric car drivers can also avoid the ? 8 per day Congestion Charge in London. Toyota must be aware of and keep up with the technological environment which includes the forces that create new technologies, creating new product and market opportunities. This is the most rapidly changing environment. By introducing the Toyota Prius, the company has gained a technological initiative in the hybrid market. Toyota knew that their target market for this product would include technology enthusiasts, or ââ¬Ëtechiesââ¬â¢ as they are known, and included reference to the cars leading technology in their advertisements. Natural forces also affected Toyotas decision to manufacture a hybrid car. Consumers are becoming more concerned about the environment and about how the products they purchase have an effect on it. Petrol and diesel are both non-renewable fossil fuels which release carbon emissions that contribute to global warming. Therefore there is a demand in the market for alternatives to petrol-powered vehicles, such as electric cars. Hybrid cars like the Toyota Prius offer improved gas mileage and emissions standards. Toyota have used this opportunity to position themselves in the market as an ââ¬Ëenvironmentally concerned companyââ¬â¢ Toyota needs however, to be aware of the political environment which may pose restrictions on its business activity. The political environment includes laws, government agencies and pressure groups that influence and limit various organisations and individuals in a given society. Recently, the EU commission announced new legislation which will be brought in that requires all manufacturers selling cars in the European Union to lower average CO2 emissions of new cars. The governments of some countries have intervened and offered tax incentives to stimulate the purchase of clean-fuel and high-mileage hybrid cars. Cultural values have an effect on the products people choose to buy. Although core values and beliefs held by society are quite persistent, secondary cultural values are more open to change. Recent changes in cultural values include a greater appreciation for nature. People are starting to realise that nature is finite and fragile. They are beginning to seek out more environmentally-friendly products, one of these being fuel-efficient cars. Toyota has responded to this by introducing the Toyota Prius onto the market. Even in Hollywood it seems that it is now cool to be environmentally responsible as a range of A-listers are now owners this hybrid car. Question 3:à Toyota has ran a masterful marketing campaign so far. It has become the ââ¬Å"environmentally concernedâ⬠car manufacturer and the technology leader in the hybrid car market. It has targeted ââ¬Å"techiesâ⬠and early adopters by educating consumers about the new car. Toyota have used the power of the internet to promote the Prius. The first thing they did was educate consumers about the prius. They launched a website to distribute the information and sent 40000 e-brochures to likely buyers. It worked. The Prius ââ¬Å"flew out of dealerââ¬â¢s showroomsâ⬠and they even had difficulty ââ¬Å"keeping up with demandâ⬠. They also ran print ads with tag lines such as ââ¬Å"when it sees red it chargesâ⬠, an emotional reference, and they ran television ads as well. By using these marketing tools to great effect the company was firmly established as a caring brand in the consumerââ¬â¢s mind. The new ââ¬Å"environmentally concernedâ⬠Toyota is clearly a hit with customers as it sold 400000 hybrids in 2006 alone. It has even succeeded in making being green cool as a host of Hollywood celebrities like Cameron Diaz and even Arnold Schwarzenegger has one to park, ironically, beside his giant hummer. Another effective strategy was to become the market leader in a new technology. It was risky to jump into the market that soon as it could have cost the company a lot of money if it didnââ¬â¢t work out. Toyota always subtly stresses the technology aspect of the car in its advertising. Surprisingly hybrids arenââ¬â¢t all that efficient. The citroen CZ, C1 and C3 all have better fuel consumption than the Prius, but it doesnââ¬â¢t matter as Toyota ââ¬Å"have captured peopleââ¬â¢s mindsâ⬠. Itââ¬â¢s marketing campaigns have won over the environmentally conscious companies like IKEA, who are switching their car fleet to hybrids. Toyotaââ¬â¢s efforts have left other car makers ââ¬Å"racing to catch upâ⬠. Marketing segmentation was used to great effect by Toyota. It set out very early on to target the ââ¬Å"techiesâ⬠and the ââ¬Å"early adaptersâ⬠through emails and the online website. ââ¬Å"Many Prius owners are immersed in technologyâ⬠, they even have their own website called ââ¬Å"Priusenvy. comâ⬠. It really has taken off with the ââ¬Å"techiesâ⬠. They were able to make changes such as ââ¬Å"cruise controlâ⬠and a ââ¬Å"snifferâ⬠to the car without the help of a qualified mechanic or engineer. This success can be attributed to the narrow targeting of the cars. Toyota could improve its strategy by appealing more to the general market for cars. Today the cost of a Prius is significantly lower than it was when it first came out. Perhaps itââ¬â¢s time to focus on what a great small family car it would make or how it might suit a professional, like a teacher for example. There are many environmentally conscious people among the ranks of the middle class families of Ireland. By honing in on the small family market Toyota could bring an alternative to the Ford Mondeo and the Volkswagon Passet. Overall Toyota has done almost everything right with the Prius. When we think ââ¬Å"Hybridâ⬠we think ââ¬Å"Priusâ⬠exactly like ââ¬Å"MP3â⬠and ââ¬Å"iPodâ⬠. That is the sign of an extremely efficient marketing campaign.

The Future is Here Essay -- essays papers
The Future is Here Abstract The school is one of the few institutions that has suffered the least changes over the centuries, but technology is gradually changing that. Teachers and students alike can take advantage of new methods and aids introduced in the classroom. The use of technology can make learning more challenging and motivating, by increasing the number of ways a teacher has to reach his/her students. Students have new tools to help them learn, and in the process bond with their teachers. Technology however is not without its detriments. When applied improperly, it can have negative consequences.
